Wednesday May 14, 2025, I accompanied the Western Regional Minister Hon. Joseph Nelson and the Member of Parliament for Prestea Huni-Valley Constituency Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe, to inspect the Bogoso Prestea Mine Facilities and meet workers.
During our tour at the mine, both plant site and Prestea underground, we got firsthand knowledge of the current situation of the mine.
The Regional Minister took this action in response to multiple mine workers' protests regarding the company's current state.
We saw that the situation requires immediate attention.
Hon. Joseph Nelson received petitions from the workers, the Local Contractors and Ex-workers of the mine, pleading with him to take action.
Myself, Hon. Regional Minister and the Member of Parliament assured them, the mine will be operational again just as it used to be and everyone will be paid.
